Welcome to Persikum Maastricht. Persikum stands for Perguruan Silat Kumango (Associations of Silat Kumango). Kumango is a tradional martial art or self-defence of Minangkabau land of Sumatra, Indonesia. Specifically, it is originated from the regency of Tanah Datar. Kumango is not merely a martial art but a philosophy of life that colours the way of life of people of Kumango. Kumango is not meant to seek for enemies but a brotherhood. After several years of training with the great Guru of Kumango-Malin Marajo-in Tanah Datar , a dutchman Bert vd Boorn aka.Muhammad Abdul Latif brought Kumango to the Netherlands. From now and then, Kumango training centre resides in Maastricht. You are welcome to visit and join us into a big family of Kumango.
